Our hospital employs over 600 caring staff, physicians and midwives providing excellent primary, acute and long term care to citizens of Lanark County, West Ottawa and Renfrew County.

Reporting to the Manager of the Medical Surgical & Emergency Departments, the incumbent is responsible for providing quality-nursing care to patients and their families in the Outpatient Emergency Department and on the Medical/Surgical Unit. The incumbent will assume responsibilities as designated.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Current B.C.L.S. Certificate.
• Current A.C.L.S. Certificate or willingness to attain at own expense within six (6) months.
• Minimum of two (2) years acute care experience in an active treatment setting.
• Emergency course or ENC.
• Triage training or willingness to obtain.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuing education.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the Nursing Process and the Standards of Nursing Practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Demonstrated excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently at times without supervision.
• Demonstrates good assessment, judgement, decision-making and documentation skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Coronary care certificate.
• TNCC.
• PALS.
• ECG Interpretation.
• Previous experience in an Emergency Department.
