Job Title

Business Intelligence Analyst – Based in Lower Mainland, British Columbia with occasional travel involved (passport required)

Information Systems Manager

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced business analyst to provide expert-level insight and analysis on our products and services. The successful candidate knows the value of leveraging data to increase sales and profitability. They have a strong background in database technology, with an emphasis on the use of analytical and reporting tools. They are proficient in data manipulation strategies, techniques, and tools (ex: Tableau) for effective visualization and informed decision-making. They have a good understanding of data and its governance.

Key Responsibilities

• Designing and developing enterprise-wide data analysis and reporting solutions
• Develop processes and procedures to ensure business solutions meet strategic goals
• Participate in the development of performance and economic indicators based on the company’s strategy
• Promote the understanding of company data and propose innovative solutions
• Provide data visualization techniques such as dashboards and reports
• Manage internal and external company resources
• Develop data cleansing rules for the company, reviewing and validating data
• Develop proof of concept and prototype to validate need
• Maintain and adapt implemented solutions over time
• Manage the integrity and validity of information contained in the data warehouse and source systems
• Write and document business requirements, functional requirements, and design specifications
• Continuously improve existing business processes and strive to develop new ones to improve efficiency

 

Qualifications

Education
• Bachelor’s degree with specialization in Business Information Systems, Computer Science or Data Science, or Master’s degree in Business Intelligence
• 5 years of experience


Competencies
• Strong business intelligence best practices in:
- Data Warehouse
- Data Loading (ETL)
- Data Visualization
• Proficiency in SQL Server technologies (TSQL, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS), Tableau or equivalents
• Understand different software systems such as CRM, ERP, MRP
• Knowledge of an AGILE project management method
