Job Summary:

Product Design Engineer will perform duties associated with the design, development, document and implementation of cosmetics packing product. It is important that you are familiar with, and adhere to, the company's or customer’s product standards and specifications so that you may design quality products that represent the company well. You must also keep trends and the needs of consumers in mind when designing products.

Job Duties: 

  • Create 3D and detail 2D drawings of plastic packaging products and visualize the drawing for customer presentation.
  • Review incoming 3D and 2D drawing, understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD & T), drawing specifications.
  • Make improvements to existing design and development standards, developing new standards and solving problems related to products. (In this way, you may affect product cost, performance and quality.)
  • Conduct tests in order to determine whether the products meet all requirements, and then document the results.
  • Effectively interface with Sales & Marketing and Quality department etc. within the company in order to review prototypes or discuss required design modifications to meet manufacturing and customer specifications.

 

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of fully accredited university with a BEng degree or related.
  • 2+ years’ experience preferably in the Cosmetics Packaging field but we will strongly consider experience in consumer-packaged goods industry.
  • Ability to read and comprehend Engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to create drawings of cosmetic packaging products using SolidWorks would be good, but in practice the ability to revise and correct drawings from Asia is a big plus.
  • Direct experience working within a manufacturing and fabrication plant.
  • the capability of using standard measuring tools, like callipers, micrometres, measuring tape; checking tools, like dynamometers, torque meters; hand held rotary tools.
  • Capability of handling 3D printed samples, like polishing, painting,
  • Basic knowledge of thermoplastic in injection molding.
  • Basic knowledge of  SPC in manufactory production control.
