The Millwork Estimator will report on site and will have the following duties

  • The Estimator will have strong experience as a estimator with an architectural millwork background
  • Maintain a strong relationship with current and future clients
  • Review specifications, project plans, AUTOCAD drawings and make changes where necessary
  • Prepare and review the scope of work, schedules and coordinate changes  accordingly
  • Solicit and negotiate pricing with subcontractor and/or supplier information & pricing   
  • Keep track of estimates, review project plan and material requirements and advise of changes
  • Prepare and submit project bids with proper approval

  • Prepare and maintain labor and material cost file required for each project and advise of changes affecting the actual project cost

  • Read drawings, read blueprints, specifications and architectural drawings and make designer changes  as necessary.
  • Develop and manage project schedule and work plan  

  • Attend site visits and manage day to day client expectations

  •  Prepare and review the scope of work, schedules and coordinate changes  accordingly
  • Manage all aspects of a project from final contract through completion including verification, budgeting, planning, client relations, delivery, installation, and documentation
  • Manage Purchase Orders and follow up with clients and contractors
  • Previous knowledge and experience in the cabinet and millwork industry
  • Ensure and constantly improve the safety, morale, quality, and profitability of our operations through the ongoing implementation of effective methods and strategies
  • Verify project scope, site conditions, and field dimensions
  • perform material take offs, coordinate with account managers in regards to price change orders and revisions, take site dimensions, incorporate measurements into the drawings, and coordinate schedules with our account manager and the job sites

 

 Key Competencies/Requirements:

  • Strong working experience with design, manufacturing, and project management background
  • Ability to multi-task, manage multiple projects in a timely manner
  • Excellent organizational and computer skills
  • Initiative-taking, participative leader with a proactive approach
  •  strong experience in project management roles in a millwork making environment
  •  Working knowledge of custom millwork, commercial millwork, woodworking, fabrication, and installation methods
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD software is an asset
  • Proven project planning, problem solving, decision-making, and business reasoning skills
  •  Excellent prioritization, time-management, organization, and multi-tasking skills with an ability to work under resource constraints in a fast-paced environment
  •  Post secondary education in Business Management, Operations Management, Project Management, Engineering, or related field would be considered an asset
