POSITION: Quality Engineer
LOCATION: 60 Regal Rd. Guelph, ON N1K 1B5
WORK HOURS: Monday to Friday 7:30am – 4:30pm
SALARY: $65,000 - $75,000

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read engineering drawings and blueprints and establish quality inspection reports for operator and machinist use
- Working with engineering and production personnel to define, develop and implement assurance practices, procedures and assessments for the efficiency control of quality
- Complete raw material receiving inspections as per current Quality Plans and Processing specifications
- Co-ordinate and perform inspections for quality and correctness for first off, in process and final
- Program and run Wenzel CMM
- Record and analyze results data during manufacturing process and for programming the CMM
- Ensure that the Quality Assurance requirements of our customers are complied with. Interact with vendors and customers to resolve any quality problems or concerns
- Initiate and participate in fast response, root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for customer, supplier and internal concerns. Verify corrective actions are effective
- Be actively involved in quality planning (Control Pans, APQP, FMEA, PPAP, Gauging, MSA, SPC, TS)
- Participate in APQP meetings. Prepare PPAP packages and obtain customer approval to meet deadlines. Perform capability studies, layouts and CMM data analysis
- Perform gauge calibrations and update the gauge calibration system as per ECMR
- Conduct audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audit findings reports and determine proper corrective and preventative actions
- Ensure that all required process documentation records are maintained and kept organized.
- Co-ordinate and maintain the department’s activity to support production requirements
- Establish and maintain our Quality Manual
- Establish and maintain cordial professional relationships with our customers, representatives and suppliers
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in the quality assurance area with in a CNC machining and manufacturing environment
- Experience with CMM and part verification/auditing/inspection
- Solid comprehension of technical drawings and GD&T
- Ability to use measuring instruments such as: edge finder, micrometers, verniers, bore gauges, thread gauges, surface tester, CMM
- Ability to communicate with various staff: engineers, inspectors, customer staff on QA issues
- Strong knowledge of NCR and Corrective Action process, Control Plans, Plans and FMEA and PPAP Submission
- Strong knowledge of metallurgy
- Understanding of ISO 9001/QS including Internal Audits
- Strong communication skills
- Strong organization skills with a high attention for detail and accuracy
