Job Opportunity:

We have designed the first Robotic Taping System designed to handle repetitive and demanding tape applications and will be located in our Newmarket facility at Mecsmart Systems Inc. We are looking for an Electrician to use output from the Electrical Design department, along with purchased components, to build custom automation equipment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Study drawings, manuals, and specifications, then, applying all pertinent electrical codes, proceed to build systems as scheduled
  • Mark drawings throughout the project
  • Perform general system checks once wiring is complete, which include, but not limited to, power circuit testing, motor rotation checks, safety circuit testing, I/O testing, and switch adjustments
  • Review machine concept and design with Electrical Designer and Project Developer
  • Prioritize and schedule multiple projects, assemble and coordinate multiple staff when larger projects require team efforts, and train apprentices
  • Document and keep organized notes on Project status
  • Research and develop application and use of products involved in a project
  • Occasional travel as required, Globally

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum OCOT Canadian Red Seal Certificate of Qualification 309A Construction and Maintenance Electricial
  • Minimum Diploma from 2-year Electrical Engineering Technician (Co-op) Program or 3-year Electrical Engineering Technology (Co-op) Program
  • 3+ years’ experience in an Industrial or Commercial application
  • Working understanding of electrical and PLC function
  • Strong Knowledge of the Electrical Safety Code and CSA Knowledge
  • Strong electrical and assembly knowledge of custom automation
  • Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatics and/or hydraulics fundamentals
  • Personal hand tools and knowledge of proper use
