Position Summary:

The Senior Director Financial Services, Clinical Information Services and Decision Support oversees and provides leadership to these departments, as well as Telecommunications and Central Staffing to ensure the provision of high quality, safe, evidence-based services in partnership with staff, patients, families and stakeholders. They will lead established teams in providing accounting, payroll, financial analysis, clinical information, privacy, utilization management, telecommunications, central staffing, data analysis, decision support and business intelligence services.

Reporting to the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, the Senior Director will develop close working relationships with all members of the hospital leadership team in providing financial, clinical information, privacy and decision support insight to help them lead their respective areas.

The Senior Director leads the strategic direction for each department, and is accountable for implementation of all operations and initiatives. They collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure these program areas are offered according to the vision, mission, values, policies and strategic goals of GGH.

Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's Degree combined with a relevant Professional Accounting designation (C.A., C.M.A., C.G.A.)
  • 3-5 years relevant experience with preference for Hospital sector financial experience
  • Good standing membership in relevant professional association
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated experience in promoting high quality, interdisciplinary work environments
  • Demonstrated leadership in complex healthcare systems using Lean methodologies
  • Demonstrated success of organizational change initiatives that have improved both clinical and fiscal utilization
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute projects
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement programs
  • Ability to apply facilitation and conflict management skills and expertise to influence and negotiate effective resolution of issues/disputes
  • Proven facilitation, relationship building, collaboration, leadership and organizational skills
  • Strong evaluation and data analysis skills
  • Knowledge of MIS guidelines for reporting
  • Sound computer application skills at an advanced level
  • An ability to apply LEAN Principles to the finance and accounting function within a challenging environment
  • Knowledge of accounting and auditing principles
  • Knowledge of decision support tools and clinical data sets
  • Strong leadership qualities
