We are searching for an experienced environmental practitioner to manage environmental site assessment and remediation projects of varying complexity located in Ontario - particularly within the Greater Toronto Area.

Working under the leadership and support of our Site Assessment and Remediation practice area manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing moderately complex Phase One and Phase Two environmental site assessments, site remediation's, risk assessments, and related projects as assigned within their area of expertise.  

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Developing scopes of work and prepare and submit proposals
  • Managing projects from start to finish, including designing work programs, identifying and allocating resources, planning, delegating and scheduling project tasks, managing budgets and deliverables
  • Overseeing the preparation of accurate and complete reports and performing QA/QC on technical work
  • Developing and maintaining trustful relationships with clients;
  • Providing technical expertise and advice to project staff
  • Promoting a safety culture in all aspects of work
  • Participating in business development and other corporate activities and initiatives

 

Requirements:

  • University degree or college diploma in a relevant field, such as environmental science, earth science, geology, chemistry, environmental or civil engineering, environmental technology, site assessment and remediation
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in an environmental consulting role
  • Prior recognition as a “Qualified Person” (per O. Reg. 153/04) by the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks, or being immediately eligible for such recognition
  • A thorough understanding of regulations and standards applicable to site assessment and remediation work programs, such as O. Reg. 153/04, O. Reg. 406/19, Reg. 903, O. Reg. 278/05, CSA and ASTM Standards
  • Strong technical and project management skills
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills
  • A valid Driver’s License
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, ideally with previous business development experience
  • A composed, confident demeanor, comfortable in a variety of settings (e.g. clients, contractors, technical staff, executives)
  • A flexible, responsive can-do attitude, with willingness to take on wide scope of responsibilities to build geotechnical business
