Drywall Framer and Boarder

We are an established construction company in downtown Toronto, and we are currently looking for an experienced drywall framer and boarder.

Responsibilities Include:

• Preparing wall and ceiling layouts
• Installing metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools
• Attaching metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring using nails, screws, clips or wire ties
• Cutting openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts and electrical outlets
• Installing corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be appliedRead Read construction drawings and blueprints.
• Select, measure, cut, shape and join wood materials for building frames.
• Repair existing frames
• Add finishes such as drywall, paneling and trim to framework.
• Frame exterior structural stud walls with window/door openings and install dens glass sheathing on exterior face of framing.
• Frame interior light-gauge studs walls including doors, headers, and other openings so that gypsum board can be installed.
• Perform Exterior and Interior layout
• Frame dropped/T-Bar ceilings and bulkheads for services as per plans and shop drawings.
• Daily clean up of job site after framing

Requirements:

• Experience with drywall framing and boardering
• Able to perform the physical duties of the role
• Valid driver's license and acceptable abstract
• Familiarity with building codes and permits, with an understanding of architectural drawings would be an asset.
