Job Description

Working within a team-based maintenance department, responsibilities will include effective troubleshooting, repair, installations, and preventative maintenance of the facility and equipment, essential in the 24-hour operation of the Paper Mill. Employees will be trained in other skills such as, machinist, millwright, and welding to be qualified as a Maintenance Technician and will be expected to assist other trades as required.

Responsibilities

• Replace and repack valves, install blanks and gaskets, install pipe hangers
• Troubleshoot and repair solenoid valves
• Fabricate/repair threaded piping
• Work with plastic piping and tubing
• Disconnect and reconnect piping to change out equipment
• Basic pipe layouts and runs
• Basic insulation work
• Basic hydraulic/pneumatic troubleshooting and repair
• Troubleshoot/repair control loops
• Trace and unplug stock lines
• Welding and Oxy/Acetylene Torch use
• Use of measurement tools and shop tools as required

Millwright Duties

• Repack equipment such as pumps or pulpers
• Paper Machine roll changes
• Replace and repair hydraulic/pneumatic cylinders
• Minor fabrication work such as brackets
• Rigging

Qualifications

• Employee must have Pipefitter/Steamfitter license (307A or 306A)

• Welding skills an asset

• Ability to work overtime/ call-ins is required

Hours of work

This position works Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:00pm.

This position requires overtime and on-call availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required on a rotating basis.

• Wages: $40.93 per hour
• Overtime paid at 1.5x hourly earnings. Work performed on holidays paid at 2x hourly earnings
