Registered Nurse – Haemodialysis Department PT Interim (0.6 FTE)

 

Are you looking for a dynamic nursing specialty career opportunity?  Do you like the idea of thinking on your feet in fast-paced environments? As a RN working in the Haemodialysis Unit at Lake of the Woods District Hospital (LWDH) you will have the opportunity to care for patients through provision of renal health education, primary nursing of dialysis patients, use and maintenance of equipment, and providing support to patients/family. When working on this unit you are an integral member of a team who provides hands-on care.

 

Interim: (Ending March 20, 2021)

 

Qualifications

 

  • Current Registration with Ontario College of Nurses and willingness to obtain Registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba.
  • Completion of recognized Nephrology Nursing Course preferred. May consider applicants willing to successfully complete a training program outside of Kenora.
  • Minimum of one year recent Haemodialysis or Acute Care nursing experience.
  • Ability to function independently in a Medical Acute Care setting.
  • Current Certification in BCLS and demonstrated ongoing competence through annual re-certification
  • Certification in Blood Glucose Monitoring and demonstrated competence in BGM through annual recertification.
  • Certification in IV Therapy with demonstrated ongoing competence.
  • Reliable attendance record.
  • Knowledge of First Nations culture an asset.

 

Salary: As per ONA Collective Agreement
