Summary (Focus of position): Prepare wound coils per the engineering specification provided, emphasizing (1) safety, (2) quality and (3) productivity. Qualifications:
- Able to read and understand engineering specifications for coil winding
- Training per our training plan in skills, quality and safety.
- Relevant production/factory experience, demonstrating knowledge of safe use of production equipment and tools.
- Preferred two to three years of coil winding experience, or better
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Production Duties
o Interpretation of winding specifications.
o Selection and preparation of all materials (conductor, insulators, duct spacers, tape, etc)
o Selection and preparation of winding coil-form.
o Load and unload conductors,
o Use of soldering iron.
o Use of oxy-propane torch.
o Use of MIG welding
o Use of TIG welding
o Use a single coil winding machine, or a multiple (autowinder) winding machine; Perform the programming activity.
o Use of overhead lifting equipment
o Use tools such as pliers, long-nose pliers, hammer, measuring tape, electric grinder, electric or hydraulic shears,
o Wind coils in aluminum or copper conductor in rectangular or round form, for our Standard and Special transformers
- Quality duties
o Continually inspect the materials used, and ensure that finished product is per engineering spec. Coordinate with Team Leader to ensure quality and on-time production. Coordinate with Team Leader and engineering department for areas where clarification is required.
o Cooperate with engineering department and Quality Assurance manager for corrective actions.
- Safety duties
o Refuse unsafe work. Remain vigilant and aware of situation. Employ best practices to avoid unsafe situations
o Use Personal Protective Equipment as prescribed in the company safety policy
o Be mindful of Musculoskeletal Disorder – Avoid repetitive or straining tasks for extended times. Avoid impact on joints Take care to avoid ergonomic hazards in performing duties.
o Actively promote an atmosphere of strict adherence to health and safety protocols
