Position: Porter
Job Summary: Reporting to the Director of Rooms, the Porter will be responsible, primarily, for the following: welcoming our guests in the hotel, assists arriving and departing guests in a highly professional manner, handles luggage and bags, transport guests to/from recreation areas in a safe and timely manner.
Hours of Work: Full time and Part Time positions available with days and hours of work subject to business volumes
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assists arriving and departing guests in a highly professional manner and with utmost courtesy
- Assisting in delivering Special Delivery Items to all Hotel, Loft, and Villa Units
- Handles all luggage, baggage, packages, etc. carefully and safely
- Rooms arriving guests and assists guests who are checking per Hotel standards
- Ensures that all luggage and bags are in a safe, secure area while awaiting transfer
- Completely familiar with all room types, room amenities and Hotel facilities, provides such information to Hotel guests
- Completely familiar with Hotel emergency procedures and provides necessary information to Hotel guests
- Handles guest inquiries professionally and with the utmost courtesy and accuracy
- Answers telephone in accordance with Loews Hotels Star Service standards
- Becomes familiar with guests’ names and acknowledges guests by name
- Provides guests with Hotel and surrounding area information and travel directions
- Promotes Hotel facilities, Food and Beverage outlets, and recreation programs
- Transports guests to/from recreation areas in a safe and timely manner.
- Maintain the orderliness and cleanliness of the Front Desk and Heart of House. Monitor the neatness of the lobby.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors which may include Off-Season tasks.
Tasks as follows for Off-Season:
- Assisting Garbage removement from Garbage Closets
- Maintaining the Cleanliness of All Common Spaces
- Maintaining the Cleanliness of All Outside Common Spaces
Managing and Monitoring Activities that Affect the Guest Experience
- Understands the resort’s standard service culture.
- Provides excellent customer service by being readily available/approachable for all guests.
- Strives to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction.
- Extends professionalism and courtesy to guests at all times.
- Responds timely to all guest requests and work orders.
Qualifications
- Have minimum of (3) years of driving experience with a valid G Driver’s License
- Flexibility with working overnight shifts on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Self-motivated, friendly, upbeat, outgoing, mature person who thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Previous Hotel experience is ideal
- Excellent interpersonal skills/Customer focused and detail oriented.
- Organizational skills, ability to multi-task with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Professionalism and reliability.
- Excellent communications skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Knowledge of computers and cash handling experience an asset
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Must be a team player
Experience
- Guest Services/ Porter/ Bellman :1 year (preferred)
- Customer service: 2 years (preferred)
