POSITION: TECHNICAL MANAGER, MEDICAL IMAGING

POSITION SUMMARY
The Technical Manager will report directly to the Manager, Medical Imaging and will work in close collaboration with the Medical Program Director, Medical Imaging. They are responsible for the daily operations of the HPHA Imaging departments, focusing primarily on specific areas and/or modalities as determined by the Manager and Medical Program Director, Medical Imaging. They are also responsible for the management and operations of all resources required to ensure that these areas within the HPHA Imaging portfolio have the capacity to provide quality care using the principles of best practice in the most cost effective manner.
The Technical Manager of Imaging will work under the guidance of the Manager, Medical Imaging, for facilitating the care for imaging patients by: ensuring quality patient care and competent safe practice; coordinating staffing levels; reviewing workload measurement trends and addressing workload concerns; assessing, evaluating and acting as a resource regarding staff development; identifying educational needs and providing/arranging in-services and directing/developing educational packages; managing employee relations through knowledge of collective agreements and corporate policies and procedures; developing/updating policies and procedures as required; demonstrating current knowledge of budget management, utilization management and fiscal accountability. As a dynamic leader, the Technical Manager will demonstrate creativity, flexibility and innovation; and promote effective team building and facilitate staff professional development through promotion of standards of practice and ongoing learning.
REPORTS TO: Manager, Medical Imaging
SALARY: $119,159.00 per annum
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in related field and/or Advanced Certification (ACR) in Imaging
- Current registration with, or be eligible for registration with, the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario or respective regulated College
- X-Ray Safety Officer Certification an asset
EXPERIENCE:
- 5-7 years of current progressive Professional Experience
- 1-4 years of current progressive Management or Supervisory Experience
ABILITIES:
- Demonstrated exceptional leadership and team building skills
- Exceptional clinical skills in the area of Imaging
- Demonstrated commitment to person centered care and interprofessional practice model of care
- Proven management skills including financial, human resources, quality improvement, change management, evaluation, planning, organizational, utilization and time management skills
- Well developed mutual gain negotiation and conflict management resolution skills
- Demonstrated analytical skills necessary to gather and interpret qualitative and quantitative data
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Effective presentation skills, and knowledge to develop and teach educational programs
- Computer literate
