NOTICE OF VACANCY
POSITION: UNIT CLERK I - Inpatient Unit & Emergency Department
Primary Site: St Marys
Temporary Part-time
(Shifts: 12-hour days, 7 days/week), may be subject to change
POSITION SUMMARY: As the primary contact person, the Unit Clerk I coordinates unit activities to promote relationships with patients, visitors and healthcare professions. In addition, the Unit Clerk contributes to the efficient function of the Unit primarily through effective clerical and communication activities.
REPORTS TO: Manager, Inpatient Unit & Emergency Room - St. Marys
DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible
SALARY: $26.67 to $28.30 per hour
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two year Medical Office Administration Diploma
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum one years’ experience in a healthcare setting
ABILITIES:
- Medical terminology
- Computer literate with a working knowledge of the Meditech Information System and Microsoft Office Applications
- Well-developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work, multi-task and be flexible
- Ability to work independently or side-by-side with other members of the healthcare team pleasantly and interact professionally with peers, patients and other departments
