We are seeking an experienced, Full-time, Permanent Emergency Services Department Manager

 

Pay: $30.00-$38.00 per hour - Expected hours: No less than 40 hours per week. You will be working from our head office in Burnaby. Your regular hours will be 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday. (On call evenings & weekends as needed)

Overview:

The Emergency Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of our emergency department. The Emergency Manager leads the emergency department ensuring mitigation resources are deployed in a timely and effective manner and to ensure our customers receive the highest and most urgent care possible in property emergency situations.

This role requires significant coordination with other functional leaders within the business to ensure the team is always providing extraordinary care while serving people in their time of need

 

Duties include:

  • Schedule and deploy mitigation personnel and equipment resources in property mitigation scenarios
  • Assess team competencies and coach individuals to close operational gaps
  • Review technician resumes and conduct interviews in coordination with other leaders in hiring capacities
  • Coordinate with other functional leaders to ensure customer needs are being met in a timely manner
  • Manage mitigation project budgets with direction from assigned Project Managers
  • Identify potential project risks and issues and communicate them to project managers
  • Work with customers directly in escalation situations and/or in highly complex project deliveries
  • Ensure Quality Metrics (SLAs) are documented, and minimum insurance carrier expectations are maintained
  • Assist field technicians on project sites when required

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Sound planning, communication and organizational skills
  • Current knowledge of mitigation techniques, technologies, equipment and methods
  • Willingness to work in emergency or on-call situations, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong leadership and motivation skills

 

Education, Certification and/or Work Experience (Required):

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous leadership experience in restoration, construction, or a related industry
  • Certification in restoration or related field preferred (e.g., IICRC certification)
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Preferred:
  • 2 years leading a team of 4 or more direct reports in a restoration environment
