Description

The Manager oversees all operational aspects of Rehabilitation services, including the delivery of Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology and Fracture Clinic services in Lake of the Woods District Hospital. They may also work in all patient care areas, specifically outpatient and all units. They participate in department-wide planning efforts, addressing management issues such as future programs, marketing, cost control, and regulatory compliance. With a focus on patient-centered care, they supervise daily activities and strive for timely, high-quality services.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from a recognized Rehabilitation program
  • Current registration with the applicable College in Ontario
  • Eligible for membership with the respective Professional Association
  • Previous clinical experience in chosen discipline
  • Previous supervisory or management experience preferred, other combinations of experience and education may be considered
  • Excellent Change Management skills
  • Knowledge of collective agreements and collective bargaining processes
  • Knowledge of computer software including Electronic Medical Records eg. Meditech and Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills to effectively manage the performance of members of various professional and nonprofessional groups
  • Demonstrated ability to perform effectively and efficiently under pressure of stressful and critical situations in a rapidly changing health care environment
  • Demonstrated ability to assess client needs, to formulate goals and objectives, to develop policy, to analyze complex issues and to evaluate quality
  • Effective conflict management skills with the ability to lead a team of diverse members
  • Reliable attendance record
