Description

The Mental Health and Addictions Programs – Manager, RAAM and Addictions Medicine Team is a member of the Leadership Team and is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, managing and evaluation of RAAM and the Addictions Medicine Team. The Manager is also responsible for effectively managing and directing the human and financial resources of RAAM and the Addictions Medicine Team. Additionally, the manager is responsible for the development and maintenance of appropriate policies and procedures consistent with, and supportive of:

  • Centre of Excellence (CoE) policy/guidelines
  • The LWDH Hospital’s Mission, Vision, Values, Policies and procedures, and professional standards of practice of:
    • Morningstar Withdrawal Management Centre, (Acute Care Beds, and Treatment Readiness beds)
    • RAAM
    • Substance use disorder pathways from the ED
    • Addiction Medicine Treatment Team
    • Medically enhances Coordinated Care for Addictions
    • Post Custody Enhancement Program – case management, and
    • Managed Alcohol Program

The Manager also participates with others, both within the hospital and in the community/district/region, to effectively plan and coordinate a seamless delivery system for clients requiring addiction services.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, or health-related field
  • Eligible to register and/or register as a member of their Professional Association
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, and ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Strong problem-solving skills within different service sectors
  • Proven leadership and team building skills in a health or human services organization
  • Thorough knowledge of Addictions Programs and treatment modalities; Ontario experience preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of the scope of practice of psychologists, psychiatrists, occupational therapists, physicians, mental health therapists, and unregulated health professionals
  • Strong skills in human resources management, budgeting, policy and procedure development, utilization, risk management, and quality improvement
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent group presentation and facilitation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work overtime as required
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and use of own vehicle for hospital business, and to travel for hospital business
  • Reliable attendance record
  • Minimum of 5 years front-line health care and/or social service experience
  • Experience in working in an interprofessional setting
  • Minimum of three years’ clinical/administrative management experience in a health care and/or social service setting
