Quality Assurance Manager

This VIP (very important position) will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality testing for all product lines at. The Q.A. Manager will coordinate our food safety programs, maintain detailed quality assurance records, and oversee plant sanitation programs. The Q.A. Manager will oversee the operation of the quality testing lab and will be directly responsible for all employees in the lab and sanitation departments, and food safety training for all plant personnel. Will respond to customer inquiries or issues, participate in mock recalls, coordinate with auditors, and keep the plant and food manufacturing areas audit-ready at all times. 

The successful applicant will have:

• A Bachelor's of science degree in a relatable field
• Laboratory environment experience is required; must be knowledgeable in the safe handling of chemicals and lab protocols; familiarity with equipment used in a laboratory environment.
• Knowledge of food safety and HACCP programs is essential - with the ability to train others. Food processing experience preferred; knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and quality systems helpful. 
• Highly organized; able to work in a changing environment while maintaining proficiency, accuracy and meeting department goals, priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and ability to effectively communicate across all levels of staff; prior supervisory experience highly desired.
• Be self-motivated and take initiative for ongoing quality improvements, and the development and implementation of new testing procedures and new product line requirements.
• Experience in budget costing in a laboratory environment helpful.

This is a full-time, year-round, permanent position working at our Souris, PEI facility. Work schedule is days, Monday - Friday, some holidays, weekends, or extended hours may be necessary.
