Position Summary

As a Grounds Maintenance Worker, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the appearance and functionality of our outdoor facilities. Working under the supervision of the Grounds Manager, you will perform a variety of tasks to ensure that our grounds are clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing for guests and visitors. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for outdoor maintenance



Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as mowing, edging, and trimming grass and shrubs.
  • Operate and maintain landscaping equipment including lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers, and other power tools.
  • Plant, water, and fertilize flowers, trees, and shrubs according to seasonal schedules and landscaping plans.
  • Remove weeds, debris, and litter from outdoor areas including pathways, parking lots, and recreational areas.
  • Assist in the installation and maintenance of irrigation systems, drainage systems, and outdoor lighting fixtures.
  • Monitor grounds for signs of damage, erosion, or pest infestations, and report any issues to the Grounds Manager.
  • Participate in special projects such as landscaping renovations, seasonal decorations, and event setup.



Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic landscaping techniques, equipment operation, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods in various weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and challenges as required.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
